We are currently seeking a Sr. Combustion Engineer – Spark Ignition (SI) for our Product Engineering division located in Waterloo, Iowa.
Responsibilities:
- Lead testing and support development of Spark Ignition combustion technologies using modeling work and test work of internal and external projects.
- Define combustion system requirements and contribute to the definition of component requirements including interface specifications, document trade-offs and conclusions, and maintain a database of solutions.
- Contribute to new design concepts, advanced test methods, process improvements, and measurement capabilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in combustion engine development or research
- Strong knowledge of combustion fundamentals and spark ignition engines
- Experience with testing and analysis tools and techniques, including CFD simulations
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, or similar software
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
