As a Senior Manager, Principal Architect Mobile at Ford Motor Credit Company, you will be responsible for leading the development of new digital platforms and orchestration technology to enable all Ford Credit products. The Engineering Manager – Orchestration (GraphQL) will design graph-ql based orchestration technology and own the delivery of the orchestration layer. You will also drive education on graph-ql and be an SME on all things related to design and development of the graph-ql based orchestration layer, engaging with other stakeholders and teams across Ford Credit, Ford Pro and Ford Motor Company to drive adoption of the graph layer.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or product development
- 3+ years of experience with Apollo graph-ql (Federated schemas / supergraph)
- Extensive experience working on cloud and digital platforms (GCP preferred)
- Experience with Lean and Agile methodologies
- Experience collaborating with engineers, designers, and product owners
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven ability to build new APIs & reuse existing APIs as needed
- Ability to deliver front-end digital experiences
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive development of highly technical services and capabilities
- Experience delivering large complex digital systems (transactional & non-transactional) that used graph-ql technology
Responsibilities:
- Design graph-ql-based orchestration technology
- Own the delivery of the orchestration layer
- Drive education on graph-ql and be an SME on all things related to the design and development of the graph-ql-based orchestration layer
- Engage with stakeholders and teams across Ford Credit, Ford Pro and Ford Motor Company to drive the adoption of the graph layer
- Develop the road map for setting up the graph-ql-based orchestration layer
- Lead a team of engineers to build the federated graph schemas
- Provide technical leadership to teams engaged in the design, delivery, and operations of digital products & solutions
- Ensure software engineering excellence through clean code, test-driven development, etc.
- Apply Lean Product Management mindset and techniques such as the build-measure-learn loop to continuously iterate on solution delivery
- Be minimally or fully remote, depending on the individual’s preference
