Your Duties And Responsibilities as an Instructional Designer
- Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs to identify business needs, performance goals, and gaps
- Demonstrate understanding of our business (organization structures, business strategies, goals and objectives, global businesses)
- Conduct task analysis/research to identify the specific knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to achieve desired performance levels (e.g., focus groups, observation)
- Gather and/or document information on stakeholders’ business requirements, specifications, and/or needs (e.g., conduct intake process, ask questions, review project charter, monitor regulations, review reports)
- Develop appropriate learning activities based on training designs and learning objectives
- Identify measurement approaches and mechanisms to evaluate the success of the solution
- Document future states using appropriate tools/processes (e.g., “to-be” process maps)
- Gather information needed for the definition of requirements (e.g., business use cases, user stories)
- Conduct current state analysis to gather current business, functional and non-functional requirements and constraints (i.e., “as-is “state)
- Obtain stakeholder and SME approval/sign-off of documentation materials (following review cycles) and make needed revisions based on stakeholder feedback
- Publish, test, and upload files to the appropriate locations (knowledge library, SharePoint)
- Communicate any identified defects with relevant stakeholders (e.g., project managers, business partners, IT) and/or facilitate appropriate adjustments
- Develop learning objectives based on appropriate analyses (e.g., business analysis, task analysis, audience analysis)
- Summarize and communicate proposed solutions with the appropriate audiences in a manner tailored to their understanding, level of experience
- Adhere to applicable internal and external communication standards established for the business (e.g., internal style guides, communication industry standards, company branding)
- Provide operational instruction and guidance to business partners impacted by business process solutions (e.g., procedure; system; application)
Requirements / Who Can Apply For This Position
- 2+ years of experience developing training curricula including instructor lead and computer-based content
- 3+ years of experience with documenting processes and practices, while effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, priorities, projects, and deadlines
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills with the ability to communicate to a variety of levels within the organization including leadership
- Technical knowledge of
- Microsoft Office Products including SharePoint
- HTML
- Learning Content tools such as TechSmith, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate
- Knowledge of Project Management
- Ability to speak and write clearly
- Knowledge of Six Sigma / LEAN
- Ability to listen actively
- Ability to act as a team player and Collaborate with others
