Q: What is the purpose of this job?

A: The purpose of this job is to assist the EP & Customer VMO Lead in Contract & Commercial management activities, including Supplier relationships, publishing contract insights enabling strategy development, performance management, and savings across EP (Uniops) contracts. The role involves working collaboratively with MBS Procurement, EP Leadership, and Finance to ensure end-to-end connectivity for all Vendor relations.

Q: What is the business context for this job?

A: The UniOps organization provides a resilient digital platform for the Unilever business. UniOps spends over €1B each year with external vendors, and the quality and value of vendor services are critical to the success of Unilever. The Vendor Management Office (VMO) is a new, agile, cross-functional organization that aims to transform the way that UniOps manages suppliers and the value gained from supplier spending. The VMO will coordinate the change to a new proactive operating model, build collaboration across functions to maximize value from supplier spending, assure the performance and compliance of suppliers, provide end-to-end orchestration and governance of vendor management activities across UniOps, and deliver value from a new Collaborative Procurement Model that plans supplier decisions far in advance and aligns with business strategies.

Q: What are the objectives of this job?

A: The objectives of this job include partnering closely with the service line, Finance, and procurement teams to support the contract management for Enterprise Platform, managing 3rd party budgets, costs, and suppliers optimally and highlighting risks as needed, continuously improving relationships to drive value for Unilever and supporting strategic relationships, independently driving Tier 2 governance along with the service line, and participating/leading in larger VMO initiatives to land the “TO BE” state for the VMO.

Q: What are the key accountabilities of this role?

A: The key accountabilities of this role include tracking and managing the 3rd Party Budget & Spend across all Contracts, working with VMO & SL Leadership, Service owners, SL Finance teams & FBPs, validating billing, resolving disputes, obtaining approvals, and reporting, proactively seeking to deliver savings across EP Contracts, tracking and managing KPIs, governance, and independent dispute resolution for Tier 2/3 vendors, leading market-based cost baseline and benchmarking for respective contracts, managing obligations, contract insights and analytics, and supporting procurement and service line in defining the overall EP contract strategy, and highlighting risks and escalating to VMO leads/other channels as needed.

Q: What are the required qualifications and experience for this job?

A: The required qualifications for this job include at least 3 years of experience in contract management in a global organization, with a strong track record of delivering programs of strategic change. Experience partnering/governance across a complex supply chain and experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders is preferred. Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to deliver results through collaboration and influencing skills are also important. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred, but not required.
